Lucius Caesius, 112-111 BC. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.88 g, 6 h), Rome. Youthful, draped bust of Vejovis to left, seen from behind, hurling thunderbolt with his right hand; behind, monogram of ROMA. Rev. L•CAESI Two Lares seated right each holding long staff in his left hand; between them, a dog; above, head of Vulcan to left with tongs behind. Babelon (Caesia) 1. Crawford 298/1. RBW 1140. Sydenham 564. Nicely toned. Slightly porous, otherwise, good very fine.
